About
Techinvasion.net has been on the net in one form or another for some time. It is my website where I post the things that I had to learn the hard way. Most of this site is made up of articles I write to document the things I think others might want to know about, and it also serves’ as a reference for myself.
My name is John Burns. I live in Miami Florida and have been involved in IT for over 8 years. I have worked as a system administrator for? companies large and small.? Currently I am a consultant. I handle large and small? network design, implementation, and maintenance for windows and Unix networks. Most of the environments are mixed with Unix and Windows servers providing a host of services. Many times my company is called in to medium and small businesses only after the exchange database is corrupt or the raid volume is bad. Because of this I spend about %70 of my time doing exchange disaster recoveries or general Windows server disaster recoveries. I find that the installations in the larger network environments are easier and have less emergency situations. I attribute this to proper planning, maintenance, and budgeting that goes into larger business installations. In my spare time I have many hobbies Open Source and Perl being two of them.
My goal for this site is to see it become a usefull repository of information with many contributers and readers coming here to get the information they need to help them complete their projects.
